Program

The Yuri Grigoriev School of Ballet offers world-class ballet training to serious students, ages 6 through 18, at Katnap Dance Center in West Los Angeles.

The program is based on the famous training method developed by Agrippina Vaganova, a ballerina at the Imperial Russian Ballet, who is considered by many to be the greatest ballet pedagogue of the 20th century. This is the method that has produced many of the world’s greatest dancers, including Natalia Makarova, Rudolf Nureyev, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Galina Ulanova and George Balanchine.

The Vaganova Syllabus emphasizes the simultaneous development of both technical proficiency and individual artistry by including precise instructions for exercises at each level and building flexibility and endurance through comprehensive training.
